Eid Mubarak 2K18

Eid Mubarak 2018

Who doesnt love ‘Hari Raya’ aka ‘Lebaran’? Everybody does.

Eid is one of the biggest holy day for muslim around the world. Celebration after doing fasting for 30 days in the holy month of Ramadan. Common greetings during this celebration are the Arabic greeting ‘Eid Mubarak’, which means ‘Blessed Eid’, or ‘Eid Said’, which means ‘happy Eid’. The word ‘eid’ itself means ‘celebration’. In Indonesia, people greet each other by saying ‘selamat idul fitri’, which means ‘happy Eid’. Muslims also greet one another by saying ‘mohon maaf lahir dan batin’, which literally means ‘please forgive my body (outwardly) and soul (inwardly)’.
During this celebration, the largest temporary human migration in Indonesia takes place every year. In 2013, around 30 million Indonesians traveled to their hometowns during the Lebaran holiday. This is known in Indonesia as ‘mudik’ (go back to one’s hometown) or ‘pulang kampung’ (homecoming).
But i’m personally is not ‘mudik’ cause i live in my mother’s hometown and my father’s family already live in jakarta so dont need to go anywhere,  we celebrating lebaran in my mom’s hometown, which is cileungsi-cibubur.
My family from my mom’s side is so many and thats the thing that i love when i celebrate here and also not forget  mention, rendang, opor and ketupat by the one and only my mom. Something that i miss and love from lebaran is met my big family, the foods!, shalad eid, and the sound of takbir! I feel so peaceful, don’t you?
I LOVE KETUPAT BTW! (if only for 2/3 days) lol
On the first day i celebrate at my grandmother’s house, with my big family. Just spending time together bcs its so rare and thats actually the ‘art’ of Lebaran. The 2nd day i’m going to my father’s family in bogor. Thats it. Eventhough i’m not ‘mudik’ but i still happy doing Eid with my family. It was beautiful day, and i will always miss the vibe of the Eid.
Holiday? Umm i’m actually just went to bandung for two days and the rest days is just strolling around jakarta.
Every year is different but still, it will always beautiful and great day! Can’t wait for the next ramadan.
